Bird watching in Germany (1 Viewer)

I am living in Germany (near Frankfurt) and would like to visit suitable birding venues in this area.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also does anyone have knowledge of any birdwatching organisations in Gemany.

Hello there, I'm not very up to date, but I worked in Darmstadt in 84/85 and lived in Eberstadt, the woods up towards the Bergstrasse were very good for woodpeckers, treecreepers and warblers if my memory serves me correctly and a little further down the valley Honey Buzzards were common in summer. Plus the local wine was lovely.

I also connected with Alpine Swift, Hen Harrier and several owl species during my stay there whilst wandering around the local woods, beware of the wild boar! I had a couple of close encounters with these chaps, also there was a healthy population of red squirrels when I was there.

Happy watching

Paul
