Birding around Istanbul in July (1 Viewer)

I will be in Istanbul on a non-birding trip for a week in July but could extend my stay to do some birding there or elsewhere in Turkey. July is generally not a great month for birding anywhere in the Northers hemisphere, no migration and too hot, but I did not choose the dates. Is it worth staying longer to go birding or just go straight home after the event in Istanbul? Where would be worth going? Is the birding in the Izmir area good in July? What is the Izmir bird paradise - a park or a preserve, are their trails? Is the Gediz Delta worth visiting in July and would I need a car to go birding there. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
