Birds seen in Guayaquil, Ecuador - ID help would be much appreciated! (2 Viewers)

I'd really appreciate any ID help with these!

These were all taken in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, but at different times of year. The first two photos were taken on the 7th and 13th of July 2013 respectively; the third was taken on 19th February 2014 and the fourth on 30th March 2014.

Thanks for the help, JWN Andrewes. Any other opinions on the last one? It does look quite like a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, apart from the appearance of its head.
