Black Shag or Little Pied Shag - Fiordland, New Zealand (1 Viewer)

I'm struggling to figure out which one these are. One was perching in the sun the other on the nest with two chicks. Looks like the pics of the Black Shag in my somewhat outdated Field Guide but was possibly just little small to be that. And the variations in the Little Pied Shags plumage make it difficult to rule out. Any help will be much appreciated.View attachment Shag.jpeg

Little Pied, the face / bill is quite distinctive with the steep forehead and relatively stubby bill.

Thanks for the help. I was leaning that way but the white patch on the throat was confusing me.
