This bird was quite a distance for my camera, I thought Tufted, but others in the hide have mentioned a Scaup , possibly female Greater Scaup, but need
some confirmation. Shot taken yesterday 27th Sept . Thanks

well in the range of tufted duck; so ID as already given by Butty.

note that this is a darkbacked bird , as you can just see... and some tufted ducks can show a lot of white at the base of the bill, extreme ones even more than this , while tehre are many who don´t show that at all
