Hiya. I'm visiting from Hawaii and enjoy birdwatching while mountain biking the NW Houston trails.

This bird I've tentatively identified as a Swallow Tail Kite, which would be kind of rare for this area. Sorry for the poor picture quality, it's the best I could do. It was observed on Cypress Creek north of Kickerillo today 3/16/2023. It appeared to look like a raptor with marine characteristics, and the stark white on the breast rules out Osprey.

Hola Kukiniloa! A warm welcome to Birdforum from all the staff and moderators (y)

For bird identifications it is better to post your thread in our Bird Identification Q&A section here:

Hi Kukiniloa and a warm welcome from me too. There's something about the pose which makes me think of a cormorant species (immature ones have a white breast).... or an Osprey, but it's late at night and I've old eyes now, so I could be way off the mark.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
