Decapitated Great Horned Owl? (1 Viewer)

I believe this a Great Horned Owl, as it's the only type of owls we've ever seen here. But I'm not sure as it's head has been removed...by another Great Horned Owl, maybe?

Having not seen many Owls, I can't affirm your question.
It would probably get you more answers if this thread was moved to the Bird Identification section of the Forum which I will request shortly. Just sit tight for a bit and I'll get it moved for you. ;)
 
Ah, maybe I should changed the name of this post! I live a few miles from the beach with the bay practically in our backyard so gulls are everywhere....it just seems much bigger than a gull. And it's right under the trees where our owls hang out.
 
Definitely a gull. Pattern on an owl would be more rufous brown with a more defined pattern. Body would be a different shape with proportionately shorter wings
