Up at Beachy Head on Wednesday and witnessed a grey rabbit “rocket” across the short sward towards the cliff edge (the speed of which, would have impressed the local hares), whereupon, I thought it was going to “Lemming” itself over the top, when it slammed on the brakes and disappeared down a tuft of a rabbit hole, literally adjacent to the cliff edge…where grass ends and vertical chalk meet!
Thinking, what may have prompted such a reaction was soon revealed, when I espied the protagonist…a stoat! opposite the sward on it’s back legs looking my way.
Frantically grabbing my camera, I was stoatally 🤣gob-smacked at the possibility of “framing” the beasty, as it’s a critter that I’ve only seen on a handful of occasions over the years and never been able to image.
No prizes for these images, however happy to have been able to witness such an event.
