Having just emerged out of the woods this afternoon, this raptor suddenly appeared over the hedge, as is often the norm I was taken by surprise!
Although the light was awful, I managed to get off a few bad shots (as usual) before it executed it’s 45 degree dive disappearing into the scrub.
Clearly an Accipter, thought it looked Crow sized, big hips, head and with legs already down when perhaps 80-100m from the quarry, I’ve not seen Sprawk hunt like this, unfortunately the views were just a few seconds through the viewfinder only. 😩
