Hi everybody,
This afternoon I was hiking in the Rouvas gorge, in south-central Crete.
In the lower part of the gorge, on the steep hillsides where a few pine trees grow amidst the rocks, I found a cracking male Collared Flycatcher (photo 1, no problem there).
And then, 5 minutes later and 50 meters away, this other bird popped up (all subsequent photos).
Looking at well, the incomplete collar, smaller white wing patch, darker rump and white bar on the median coverts, I'm thinking Semi-collared?
But, that morning's Collared was a lifer for me, and I've only seen Semi-collared once, almost 10 years ago. And since, according to eBird barcharts, there are only 2 previous records of Semi-collared for Crete, I wanted the experts' opinions!
Thanks in advance
