The French Council of State suspends all trapping of wild birds: A huge victory for wild birds and our friends and partners at @lpo_officiel and the association @onevoiceanimal. During the hearing on 21 October, all parties seemed to agree on the irregularity of non-selective trapping of wild birds following the previous rulings from the European Court of Justice on 17 March 2021 and then of the Council of State on 28 June 2021, confirming the illegality of trapping with glue (limesticks) in SE France. In similar fashion, the derogations authorising the trapping of larks in the south-west and of lapwings, golden plovers, thrushes and blackbirds in the Ardennes for the 2019-2020 season were in turn annulled by the Council of State on 6 August 2021.

Would love to hear more on this from folks in France/EU.
