Two new subspecies are introduced here (no ZooBank registration btw):
Prunella montanella gebleri, for which the English etymology reads (Mlíkovský & Red’kin 2023: 5787): "Named for Friedrich August von Gebler (1781-1850), a German-Russian physician and naturalist, first explorer of the natural history of Altai Mountains."
Prunella montanella loskoti, with the following English etymology given (Mlíkovský & Red’kin 2023: 5788): "Named for Vladimir Mikhailovich Loskot (1938-2021), a foremost Ukrainian-Russian systematic ornithologist, who spent last 45 years of his life in ZIN (St.-Petersburg)."
