Fascinating geography of old fluvial sandy deposits, gorse and birch producing a really interesting range of habitats just outside Stourport. 2nd visit of the year on a misty Saturday morn with a liberal sprinkling of early spring migrants including Willow Warbler, the ubiquitous chiffchaffs and blackcaps, common whitethroat, first Sand Martin of the year, treecreepers on the margins of the more mature trees skirting the common, nice to see a Bullfinch, a few Greenfinch and Chaffinch, Buzzard, Reed Bunting, Moorhen (by the small pond by the road), usual corvids etc, mistle and song thrush. Look forward to seeing adders and lizards at this unique sight
