Hawkshead Cumbria (1 Viewer)

Hi, I've just seen a bird which I thought at first glance was a stonechat but it had a solid black head with a yellow ring 3-4 mm wide all the way round its neck . Can't remember body/leg colour. But it was flying along a fence on the outskirts of Hawkshead in company with what looked like a female bunting/finch. Sorry it's vague.

Welcome to BF.
Sounds bang on for a stonechat but you got the neck-ring colour wrong? No offence, but easily done.
Hi Butty, thanks for your reply. Definitely yellow, both me and the Mrs registered it. It was very uniform in width as well, all the way round the neck and totally black above it. I'm wondering now if it was an escapee from somewhere
