Hi everyone,

Just joined today, but been lurking in the background for a while, reading lots of constructive advice from knowledgeable members, so thanks for that.

I have recently retired from Engineering but have been building up some optics for a few years.

I will probably be more focused on astronomy, but intend to also try to get a better knowledge of birds. Raptors intrigue me.

Having acquired a couple of Canon IS bins (18x50, 12x36), I think I am a convert.....with the magic button.

I also have some scopes .....100mm Regal M2, Vortex Viper 65mm, Acuter Grandvista DS-Pro 80mm, Trailseeker 65mm straight, C5, C90.

I spread my time between Spain (Axarquia mountains) and UK (Northern Ireland north coast looking towards Islay in Scotland).

Hi Gary and a warm welcome from me too. Have you been to Islay? It's a beautiful island.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
