Believe it or not, I only heard about Bird Forum for the first time today. I live in Edinburgh, UK, I have been birdwatching for nearly 50 years and have been to Mallorca 20 times, always with a pair of binoculars and usually with a telescope as well! Wow, it’s hot for September, but that doesn’t seem to be stopping the birds: today, around the Albufereta, My wife and I have seen Glossy Ibis, Flamingo, Stone Curlew, Osprey and Red Kite, amongst other more mundane sightings. Looking forward to S’Albufera tomorrow - I’ll read some posts to find out what we are likely to see.

Hi Ian and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. All things Scottish can be found here. Also, keep an eye on threads titled something like Scottish Bashes; we try to meet up occasionally and they're always great fun. You'd be most welcome to join us on another if you can manage.

We have some Opus articles covering Mallorca, one of which is for Albufera which you might find of interest, though it's likely you will be able to supply some information for them yourself LOL: Category:Mallorca - BirdForum Opus

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
