House Bunting breeds in Spain (1 Viewer)

The Aves Estrecho Gibraltar Whatsapp group reports the successful nesting of the House Bunting at Algeciras, Cádiz, Spain; the town opposite Gibraltar as you may know. A pair was seen feeding a recently fledged juvenile on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th. This is the first known instance of nesting by this species in Spain or Europe. It comes after a series of increasingly frequent records from the northern shoreline of the Strait over the last couple of years, following northward range expansion in Morocco.
