Hi All

Noticed this hoverfly on some thistles on the edge of a small meadow, woods close by.

This one has got me stuck.
It has dark hind legs, dark hair on the scutellum and a completely pale frons.

I was looking at Epistrophe nitidicollis but that is out of area and the face isn't right. And then Parasyrphus nigritarsis.
But the face is not right for this either.

Could some pleasetake a look and put me right?

Yours, Gareth
