How are the Celestron Trailseeker 8 x 42, Celestron Trailseeker 8 x 42 ED and Celestron Nature DX ED 8 x 42 for image quality and build quality?

And how do they compare with the Athlon Midas 8 x 42 ED and Athlon Midas G2 8 x 42 UHD?

I’ve owned the Trailseeker 8x32 and was very impressed at both the build quality and optics. Great for the price point. I sold them to a friend because the eyecups were too short for me. He loves them.

However if I was looking at 8x42 I would opt for the Regal ED 8x42. It’s really great and not very much more than the Trailseeker ED. It is a little heavier though due to the superior optics. So if weight is a consideration then you might want to go with the Trailseeker ED.

I have the x8 & 10x42 Regals and Trailseeker x8 & 10x32s (non EDs).

Regals are noticeably better. I would rate the Svbony SV202s marginally better than the non ED Trailseekers.

Can't comment on the Nature EDs, Trailseeker EDs or Athlons, as I don't own.

The Nature DX ( non ED) is not bad, but below the Trailseekers.
