Italy in October (1 Viewer)

I'm going to Italy, south of Naples; Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, Sorrento, Amalfi coast, at the end of October. What birds am I likely to see and where? I'll be with non birding family so it will be a case of observing what I can wherever and whenever. It'll be a time of trying to combine birding with sightseeing. Any suggestions welcome.

Surely someone from BF has been there. No replies so I thought I'd flag it again.

Dear Joanne,

These threads mention the area you are looking to visit:

I wish you well. The best parts of Italy for birding are the NE, NW, Puglia and Sicily. As regards the Naples area.... what can I say? You'd have more luck trying to tick off Gore Vidal and his boyfriend in Ravello. All the best.

Thanks for the links, Touty. It may not be the best birding place in Italy for you but it looks like even the common species there are uncommon here so I'm sure I'll see some new ones. It's a family holiday so we'll enjoy the culture and being in a new place anyway.
