Parkgate high tides question (1 Viewer)

David Smith

Warrington Lancs
I see there is a 10.01 tide forecast for NEXT Thursday (think thats the 22nd) at mid-day.

On the radio last week I definitely heard someone say there is a 10.80 due soon.
Is that accurate?
If so what date & time is it due?

I have googled it but it only gives up to 28 days in the future. AS yet I dont have the 12 month booklet that I will purchase next week.

For anyone wanting to see the spectacle of the hightide at Parkgate there are 2 x 10m+ tides this month, and 4 in February. The times below are approximate, and it's best to get there at least an hour beforehand.

Thursday, January 22, 10•1m @ 1215
Friday, January 23, 10•1m @ 1300

Thursday, February 19, 10•0m @ 1110
Friday, February 20, 10•3m @ 1145
Saturday, February 21, 10•3 @ 1235
Sunday, February 22, 10•1 @ 1325

Thank you very much.
So...........the 10.80 seems to be fiction??

It'll depend very much on the wind direction and atmospheric pressure. I'm pretty sure there have been almost 11 metre tides in recent years when the wind blows it in from the N W.
