The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims
Bornean Peacock Pheasant Polyplectron schleiermacheri Brüggemann, 1877
The Schleiermacher familiy were hereditary holders of the position of Curator and Director of the Grossherzoglich Hessischen Museen, Darmstadt, occupying that possition for over 100 years. Ernst Christian Schleiermacher (1755-1844) who was interested in zoology was Confidental Serecretary of the Grand-Duke of Hesse, who made him first Curator and Director (1779-1844) His son, Ludwig Johann Schleiermacher (1785-1844) followed, and was succeeded (1844-1854) by his brother, Andreas August Schleiermacher (1897-1858). He in turn was succeeded by his son, Heinrich August Schleiermacher (1816-1892). Unfortunately the entymology just mentions Herr Schleiermacher, without initials, but we think it is named after Heinrich August, who was Director when the bird was described.

The Key to Scientific Names
August Heinrich Schleiermacher (1816-1892) German civil servant, jurist, Ministerial Secretary/Director of Finance and Privy Councillor Darmstadt 1856-1884, Director of Museums Darmstadt 1854-1892 (Polyplectron).

So I am not sure why be so careful as The Eponym Dictionary of Birds. Yes there are no intitials but the dedication clearly mention him as Director der Grossherzoglich Hessischen Museen (not only one museum) and as minister. The only question may th order of names August Heinrich or Heinrich August?

Take it for what's worth.

August Heinrich Birth Date: 16. Jun 1816. Was Lugwig's son NOT Andreas Augusts...
