Saw this little beastie on the edge of Lake Chungara and have no mammal fieldguide for Chile with me and all the Internet throws up is Viscacha 🤷‍♂️ any help, as always, greatly appreciated20230203_003339.jpg
 
Cheers guys, knew it wasn't a Viscacha but according to the interweb that's the only rodent in Lauca 😂😂
 
Wow this is good! Most people in Chile see very little in the way of small rodents for some reason, so this is certainly quite interesting. When I was in Lauca, it was freshly snowed over so there was no chance at all for these, but it looks like a motivation to revisit :)
