Sanderling or Little Stint (1 Viewer)

Taken at Alvor in Portugal yesterday. There's a ton of Sanderlings down there but not many Little Stints - so :-

I think the bird on the left is a juvenile Dunlin, and the bird on the left, which looks a bit smaller is a Little Stint? This suspicion is down to the pale lines on the back, and the size.



I think the picture below is of the same bird - though its difficult to make out the lines on the back due to the angle, and no other birds present so sizing is difficult. Is this a Little Stint?

Yes pic 2 = juvenile Little Stint.

in both pics there are each one Little Stint. Note white longitudinal marks ("double-v") on upperparts.

Wasn't aware of the hind toe issue - but I think it is there and visible, albeit it is perfectly camouflaged against the dark grey mud behind!

The tell-tale hind toe is clearly visible on the bird's left foot.
