I’ve been asked my opinion by the finder on whether this is Isabelline or Turkestan, I was flattered to be consulted but having never seen the latter and only seen one Spring Isabelline and one late autumn ‘sp’ in Israel in 1994 I am not ashamed to admit that I’m out of my depth here! Shukran (thanks) in advance for your help and id. pointers.

At first sight, I'd say a Turkestan.

Thanks Valéry, the finder was leaning that way too but is apparently being challenged by certain others in the Lebanese birding community ………..

The last image looks a “wee bit RBS” to my eye, with whom they can hybridise with in certain areas, whatevah! an attractive bird Richard.

The nape looks a little greyish in two of the shots but I don't think this is necessarily evidence of any Red-backed influence. It looks like a male Turkestan to me.
