The RSPB's Position on the Dogger Bank Wind Farms (1 Viewer)

The RSPB's position on Dogger Bank wind farms:

In this there is no consideration in all of their pages of waffle given to the effects these machines are obviously going to have on the numerous migratory birds such as Wildfowl, Waders, Thrushes, Starlings, other that is than this single sentence, 'e.g. migrating birds or disruption of access to such as between the breeding areas and feeding areas.' This one and insignificant mention, which could easily and forgivably I think be overlooked by any government minister looking to make an informed decision, is all that you will find on the subject.

RSPB appear to be adopting a "see no evil, hear no evil" position on such matters. When you add in the number of wind farms built and planned by other countries in the North Sea, its clear that such developments will hit many already declining sea-birds and migrant bird populations. Indeed there are already declines in many areas in or adjacent to offshore windfarms in the Southern parts of the North Sea
