Hi everyone,

I have two pictures of two Kenyan birds.

Seem to be turdus sp. .

I believe that IMG_8370 is a Turdus abyssinicus but I am not so sure about IMG_9170 that could be a Turdus pelios althoug the habitat (the gardens of a hotel) is typical for a Turdus abyssinicus and not for a Turdus pelios.

IMG_8370 was taken on Nov, 3 at 1° 22' 17.40" S 36° 44' 1.36" E. (Fremin Cottages Gardens in Nairobi)

IMG_9170 was taken on Nov, 10 at 1° 22' 17.02" S 36° 44' 2.18" E. (Fremin Cottages Gardens in Nairobi)

May I have your opinion?

Regards,

Hi Jose

I think the yellow eye ring means it's abyssinicus—Abyssinian thrush. Afaics, the only African thrush subspecies with this feature are "orange-bellied": graueri/stormsi, neither of which reach Kenya.
