Uganda July 2 weeks (1 Viewer)

Hi There

Anyone in for Uganda when Green breasted Pitta should be displaying? I would like to concentrate on the specialities.
The Pitta of course Shoebill, Ruwenzori species.
Thinking about: Mabamba Swamp; Kibale and Mgahinga NP and maybe Mbubwindi Swamp Trail at Ruhiza, Bwindi N.P. for Grauers Broadbill
I was there a long time ago in 1996 birded the country by public transport. Now like to do a trip with driver and guide.
Would be good to share the costs.
I did about 12 African countries before so have seen a fair bit of the birds there.
Here are some of my reports:

Hi Michiel

I had been considering Uganda for this July - so would be very keen on this, and details as it develops.

Kind regards

Hi Stephen

I have just now sent a request for this trip. Depending on the vehicle (pick-up truck? this is the dry season)
I'd say we need at least one more participant.
If you know anyone please ask them. This could be a very exciting trip. Uganda is one of my favourite countries.
I spend about 4 years of my life in various countries in Africa.
It is a small country it is not as spoiled as Kenya and nearly holds a 1000 species and lots of spectacular ones!

Kind Regards

Michiel

Sorry to butt into this thread but can you recommend a local guide for the pitta? I'm not normally one for guides but I might make an exception for this.

When I saw it brilliantly our main guide was aided by a superb local guide, but I’m afraid I cannot remember his name (if indeed I knew it). Worth contacting the site as a starting point; sorry not to be of more use Steve.
