Unknown Gull, Caspian? (Texel, Netherlands, April 29, 2022) (1 Viewer)

Yesterday I saw this immature Gull on the Dutch island of Texel. It's behaviour was slightly unusual as it was resting alone on a ploughed field (bare soil) and then after a while moving/flying a couple of metres to rest again very close to two Oystercatchers. It did look healthy though. It remindend me of Caspian Gull and of Claucous Gull, but not right for either of them (unmarked and long bill, darkish primaries). Perhaps Herring with aberrant bill?

Maybe someone can shed some light on this Gull ID?

Regards, Frank

The moderator on the Dutch site waarneming.nl (observation.org) classified this as a Herring Gull indeed.
(Only now, while adding this reaction, I see that upload of the images appeared not to have succeeded yesterday. My apologies, its quite hard to help me with this ID without images to go by...)
