Whitethroat? Warbler? Oman Feb 2024 (5 Viewers)

An extreme crop. In the field I thought I had a Lesser Whitethroat but now I'm not quite happy with that (leg colour, alula, eyering, ear-coverts). Could this be a female Menetries's Warbler? A bird I´ve never seen so am totally unfamiliar with that one. Al Ghubrah Bowl, Oman, 25/2/2024

I would agree, Menetries's Warbler

Hi. looks ok for a Lesser - white eye ring, female Menetries would be orangey/red, dark grey/black bill, Menetries, would be yellow on bottom mandible, also, a female Menetries iris, would be an orangey red colour.

I agree with Menetries's Warbler.
Lesser Whitethroat is easily excluded by the reddish leg colour, the typical cocked up tail, complete white eye ring (not just below eye as in Lesser WT), black tail feathers, lack of dark ear coverts and so on...
