I've gotten a HD camcorder over Christmas and my recent acquisition of the William Optics DCL-4337 eyepiece that has a 37mm thread that allows me to screw it directly into the HD camcorder has taken my hobby to new heights.

EDIT: Dang, it looks like YouTube downsampled the 1080i mpeg file that I posted.

Yeah, they discontinued it. I got it used off astromart.

There are other alternatives though. I attached Scopetronix digi rings to my Siebert Performance 35mm and it works almost as well but with less zoom range. I'll post a video of the result I'm getting from that next.

Also, look into the Scopetronix Maxview 14mm and 17mm. They have the option of having a 37mm ring attached. I got the Maxiview 14mm in transit. I got it because I was so pleased with the DCL-4337's results.

The original video was like something you see on Animal Planet HD.
