I'm thinking of buying this camera in the hope of getting some good bird/insect/flower shots. I need something simple and uncomplicated to use and the camera is within my price range. Can anyone recommend this particular camera for a novice?

hi there, i had this camera for about a year and found it absolutely fabulous, particularly for macro shots of insects, butterflys plants etc, would have no problems recommending this camera. only problem is it gave me a taste for more which has led me to getting a digital slr very recently. great camera, great fun and great results

Thanks very much Neil. This will be the camera for me, it sounds to be just what I'm looking for.
