Screech-owl in wood duck box (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I was next door visiting my neighbor and also looking at their assortment
of wood duck boxes. They have a good dozen or so on their property.

Looks like they've got an eastern screech-owl (red morph?) who decided
on roosting in one of the boxes.

Here's a photo I took.... I could have taken it a little bit closer but really
didn't want to disturb him. It seems he sticks his head out every day
about 11 AM or so... and sits there watching them do their yard work, etc.

We were also wondering if there could be a female nesting in the bottom...??

Hi Goldfinch,

Here in the UK I have put up nest boxes for Barn owls and had them used by Mandarin Ducks. So looks like some owls and some ducks like the same things.
