So. Fla Broad wing still hanging around (1 Viewer)

I've had a young broadwinged hawk hanging around for a few months, then I thought that he left to go back up north.

Well, today, he was back again (Miami)

Any idea when he will leave? I thought that he should be gone by now

Thanks

Richard

According to my references spring migration for Broad-winged Hawks is a drawnout affair: Extending from late February to early July, with a peak from mid-March to late April. So he could hang around for a while longer without being "late".

Best,
Jim

It seems that this hawk spends more time here than wherever he is from.

If he leaves in July, he will have spent almost 9 months here.
