Anyone seen or here one yet they must be due soon i have heard they come a fortnight before they start to sing is this right :smoke:
 
The main arrival is mid to late April, though last year was rather late. The south seemed to really lack birds, with the only good numbers coming from coastal migration sites, though reasonable numbers were recorded in Scotland.

It will be interesting to see if the trend this year follows the late arrival of 2008 or the more normal arrival of the previous years. The up to date arrival trend can be seen here:

one in Hull mid april in East park, flew right over my head, closest view i've ever had of one! Seems they are here, just not seen often, or heard just yet?

Two heard (one seen) at Writtle in Essex on Saturday. First time I've managed to see one, let alone get a (very distant!) photo!
