ive got a kingfisher bird field guide is there a better one on the market,i am more or less a novice.cheers

Frankiex,

I think The Collins Bird Guide,is amongst the best British/European field guide available. The only criticism from me is that the illustrations are a tad on the small size but thats because the book covers such a large area.

There is a 2nd edition out now of the Collins Bird Guide. Pretty much the same but updated slightly and some extra plates added in and some plates changed (Goshawk and Owls spring to mind). I have both editions and they are pretty much same apart from to get a 1st edition with Barn Owl on front is extemley hard and costly.

thanks lads just purchased it on ebay just over £12 free postage.cheers
