Incredible numbers of birds off Hound Point today.
Thousands of Auks and Gannets streaming past coming up against the bridges and then heading back out the Forth.
I was present from 13.00-16.00 hrs and saw a total of 222 Little gulls,10 Arctic Skuas, 8 Bonxies, 1 Juvenile Pomarine Skua, 8 Manx Shearwaters plus Puffin,L T Duck and Goldeneye all quite good for HP.
The Auks were in a constant stream of flocks anywhere between a few individuals and up to 60+ birds throughout the three hours.
I counted 450 past in five minutes, so an estimation of 16,200 past in 3 hours.
I also counted 462 Gannets past in five minutes but they then seemed to tail off a little.
I had to go at four but my mate rang to say he had a juv Sabines Gull go through at five :C ,his fifth for here and it would have been my first,oh well.
