The Second Southern African Bird Atlas Project has been on the go for 5.5 years. We discovered "slideshare.net" a few weeks ago --- this has enabled us to share powerpoint presentations in a way that we did not know was possible! --- This short presentation shows how the distributions of seven species have changed over the two decades between the first and second bird atlas projects:

Thanks, Les.
Interesting - and worrying in that these examples show mostly decline. Habitat change, while it may prejudice one species, may benefit another. Is there any evidence in your data of areal species exchange, i.e. one species declining while another moves in and increases? For example, if Dark-capped Bulbuls were declining against African Red-eye Bulbul, that would suggest increasing dessication.
Best wishes,
Dave
