Big Bend -- worth it in Feb? (1 Viewer)

Hi Texans,
I'm thinking about a trip to Big Bend and I have a free weekend Feb 15-18 -- is this a good weekend to go and what kind of birds can I expect, or is it not worth going at this time?

Thanks,
Sandra

Going to Big Bend is NEVER a bad idea!

For birds to expect, you can get data off of eBird (ebird.org) for Brewster County, TX. You can also get hold of the Birds of the Trans-Pecos checklist from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. The list is available in the park, as well.

Here's the link for the Birds of the Trans-Pecos: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications/pwdpubs/media/pwd_bk_w7000_0809.pdf

I would also recommend looking at this site before your trip: http://www.bigbendnature.com/
