A new observation website for Austria has been launched.

http://www.ornitho.at/index.php?m_id=1

It's got a similar format to the Swiss, French, Italian, German, and Catalonian websites. You can use English or German as your language. The regulations and operating system seem to be the same as on the Swiss ornitho site. Registration is necessary to access the full range of features, e.g. search functions etc. Sightings are checked and sensitive species filtered out.

If it proves to be as good as the Swiss version, then I can thoroughly recommend it. It's been fascinating to watch the Swiss breeding bird atlas develop online so far this year.

Tom.

the citizen science participants of the Austrian breeding bird atlas are (will) also be inputting their data on ornitho.at so the site should get very useful very quickly.
