Visiting Venice April 2015

I shall be visiting Venice in April (20th -28th) on a non birding holiday with my wife. Intend to use the Vaporetto and visit Burano and Torcello.
What birding opportunities are there and any other advice, including other places accessible using the water bus? Could probably justify a day in the lagoon. Any advice welcome.

By boat or by bus you can try to have some birding at Lido

Or at Campalto or at San Giuliano (Mestre)

I think it's better at Pellestrina (South Lido)
