the other day i was scanning for skylark and linnets at one of my local patch's when i saw an unusauly high number of hare's.i don't know a great deal about these animals but alway's thought of them as quite sedentory.
i have never seen quite so many in close groups like this before.maybe other forum members have had similar sightings?.matt

Hi Matt, no its not that unusual where densities are high enough and I have had similar groups, one collective name for a group is a "Hush"

Seventeen DOES seem rather a lot! I was out at dusk a few nights ago looking for owls & badgers around the hill where I live and saw nowt but two displaying Lapwings and seven hares in the main field...that's the most I've seen for quite a while.
Seeing more hares during the day just now though!
