greenfinch with seed

Greenfinch (Carduelis chloris)
I took this photo with a Pentax ME Super SLR camera using a 80-210 mm tamron zoom lens and a 2x converter.
Exposure 'automatic' (I think).
Photo taken in our garden in Hurst Green, Surrey, UK in early May (not sure of exact date but definitely May).
I have cropped the photo and used Adobe to brighten the image but I haven't changed the hue/saturation/sharpness or any of the cloning or editing tools.
(Greenfinches seem to be popular subjects for this competition--probably because they come to feeders so readily!)

Watched this Osprey dive in after fish and drove to end of lake where they seem to all perch while feeding. Got set up and in she flew, followed by Crows. Before setteling down she flared after being "dive bombed" by the crows.

Red-bellied woodpecker

My second entry is this red-bellied woodpecker at my feeder in the backyard in Prairieville, Louisiana. He seems so colorful and, for once, allowed me to take many pics of him.
