I'm looking for a hard to get Swarovski ATS 80 HD but now i'm thinking to buy a new one for less 1.200 Euro at www.verrekijkerhuis.nl Is this a good price for this Swarovski?

Hi,

I visited the site you mentioned. The price they are selling the ATS 80 HD is 1342 Euro. Does this include 19% VAT? Either way, go for it.

Cor,

I'm about to do the same purchase in a couple of months (just waiting for my bonus to arrive;-) and the 1342,- is an incredibly good price if it is incl VAT (which I think it is). As a matter of fact, I wonder if there is not some mistake. If you go to www.kamera-express.nl you find the 'regular' 65 and 80 for 1.296,-....which is the same price as at Verrekijkerhuis.nl.
So why should there be all of a sudden a price difference from over eur 500,- on the HD version (1888,- at Kamera Express)?

Regards,
Geert

Cor,

Please take a look at www.verrekijkershop.nl.
There you will find the ATS65HD for 1.342,- euro. I am almost convinced that the price at the site you mention is a mistake.
In their 'algemene voorwaarden' I have read that the prices are incl VAT, so that is solved. And also that they do not take any responsability for pricing-errors on the site.
In the meantime I have sent them an email asking them to contact me, because it's all a bit fishy if you ask me. Even if we would buy there, and the price is for real, then what about service?
Keep you posted on this forum.

The 1342 Euro for the 65HD (approx £938) is for the body only. Add 421 Euro (= £294) for the 20/60 zoom and it is not a bargain at least here in the UK. For example Warehouse Express sells the pair as a bundle for £1099 which includes a s/o case and tripod.

The 1296 Euro for the ATS 80 mentioned above is also for the body only and is not the HD version (= 1888 Euro).

The site has just changed its price for the 80HD!! Yesterday it still was euro 1342,- (see above posts) for the body, now it is 1.888,- which is the current price charged by other e-tailers as well.
Discussion closed, bargain lost :C

Damn, another "dutch boy" who liked this price

I bought mine recently on ebay. I spent six or seven months waiting for one to become available and not go through my top price (varied slightly depending on age and eyepiece.) I got an angled ats hd 80 with 30x & s.o.c. for marginally over £900 delivered with 8 years transferable warranty left. That left me enough to by a specialised tripod to fit my special needs, and a 20 - 60x.

I was delighted with my patience! A couple of times I was tempted to go higher, but if you can be patient you'll get a deal.

It doesn't work for Zeiss Diascopes, the only serious alternative for my eye - I've NEVER seen a used one on ebay

Kamera Express

Hi,
Just to let you know that I bought the ATS80HD last week at Kamera Express in Capelle a.d. IJssel in the Netherlands. (www.kamera-express.nl).
Got the whole package (scope, soc, Swarovski-1 tripod, and 20-60 zoom) for a good price, which I promised them not to mention. But they are open for some negotiation.
I decided to spend this kind of money because I think it is a purchase for life (unless yoy drop it and it is ruined). So in the end I guess it is more economic to buy this scope now, then to buy a cheaper one that you want to upgrade over the years.

Anyone got a Swiss address for this scope? Was using one over the last few days looking for my dog (now found), was staggered at the quality - simply staggered, now I really want one for the autumn - September at the latest.

So - a good Swiss dealer - or EU dealer who will ship to sunny Switzerland?

The last time I checked WHE there were 2 in the returned section but I can't remember how much they were asking for them. There are bargains out there if your in the right place at the right time.
