Any advice on best places for migration, woodpeckers, shrikes etc , places to stay would be greatly welcomed. We're only at the "ideas stage" at present.

Migration routes along the Black Sea coast are presumably on your itinery anyway. Cape Kaliakra was particularly spectacular when I was there a couple of years ago but this was in Spring. Not sure if reverse migration follows the same route?.

Any of the marshes and wetlands along the coast from the Romanian border to the southern border will be brilliant I'm sure.

Around Bourgas is great in September- the storks will have mostly gone through but Lesser Spotted Eagles will be on the move over Atnosovsko Lake (just north of town).

These guys are very good for advice and some guiding e.g. if you wanted a half day or day of being shown around.
