scope n skies here in the u k have an interesting addition to their range. its a pair of adler 8x42 polarising binoculars, just the job for you fishing birders as you can remove the polarisers [for fish watching] and use them as birding bins.

Interesting that you mention this as I often add a circular polarising filter to my Nikon ED scope to "cut through" heat shimmer and, depending on the angle, excessive haze that is accentuated by excessive magnification. In full daylight, where these problems are most apparent, the slight loss of brightness owing to the filter factor is not a significant problem.
