Hi Guys
I'm Pete Outhwaite. I live in Kwazulu Natal in SA. I recently had a look at some Kamakura roof prism binoculars (8X42 and 10X42) at the bird fair at the BirdLife SA AGM and was most impressed. They are mid priced +-R5000 but seem to compare very well with the top line makes. I am having difficulty in getting test info though I understand they were tested in Alula magazine (vol 6 no 1 in 2000) by Rauno Yrjola. The Japanese manufacturer has been around some time but generally has his products rebadged as other makes eg Canon, Minolta, and many others. Apparently they also make all the US military bins.
They have recently started to sell under their own name but I am concerned about buying without sufficient info on backup service etc.
Any body got any info??
Regards
Pete O
