Best season for birding? (1 Viewer)

What is the best season to bird Costa Rica?

Hi Gymnogpys,

It depends what you are after, for many people December-May (typically the dry season) is considered the best time, all of the resident species in addition to a plethora of North American migrants. If your not bothered by connecting with the North American birds then the 'green season' June-September is probably a good time to visit, all the resident species, some South American migrants and the lodges are all generally cheaper as it is classed as the low-season.

Hope this helps, if you need any further info please feel free to PM me.

Cheers

Andy
