Here's a picture taken in Southern Arizona. I'm trying to ID it for a none birder. Me? I have no idea what it is either so can any of you give it a name.

Your bird is a Verdin. Notice the obvious dandelion-colored face, and the chestnut markings on the shoulder.

That is an adult Verdin. A very cool little bird that is common in the scrubby deserts of AZ
