Birdwatching Holiday with my RSPB Group to the Isle of Wight in June of this year

Posted Sunday 17th April 2016 at 19:44 by IAN JAMES THOMPSON
I'm really looking forward to my RSPB Local Groups 7 day holiday in June of this year to the Isle of Wight. We will be visiting a number of bird reserves including reserves owned by the RSPB and National Trust and also some smaller bird reserves as well on that Island. The previous two years my RSPB Group has had a weeks annual holiday to the Orkneys in 2014 and North Wales in 2015. As well as the annual holiday my RSPB Group has monthly birdwatching day trips by coach to various good birdwatching areas locally on a Saturday as well as local birdwatching midweek 2-3 hour walks and there are regular indoor talks mainly to do with birds. I would advise any RSPB Member to join there local RSPB Group if there is one in there area. I've made lots of new friends in my RSPB Group, including one very close friend as such we exchange birthday and Christmas cards and presents. And I've been to my new close friends house and apart from our RSPB's Group trips, we also go birdwatching together by public transport locally birdwatching. The good thing about my RSPB Group is that we all have the same interest and although I can't recognise any of the less well known birds, but all the members who are experts are willing to help me with identify the birds and they never show off. It's certainly changed my life since I joined my RSPB Group and instead of being stuck in the house all the time, I'm getting out to different places far more frequently and I'm really enjoying life so much now.
